• Work start — The date performance under the award begins. It may fall before or after the award action date.
• Hit the public record — The date the action first appeared in public data. This can be months after the government’s official action date.
• Department of War coverage boundary — Normal-volume Department of War reporting is established through May 22. Dates after that point are shaded because coverage is incomplete, even though some Department records may already appear there.
